Rooms

    Home from home

Douneside House is designed to be a real home from home and that is why we make sure our rooms are exactly the way you'd expect - attractive, clean, well-equipped and comfortable.   Please note that rooms do not have television or telephone - these facilities are provided in the public areas.  We do provide quality toiletries, hair driers and irons on request, coffee and tea making facilities.

We have 14 en-suite rooms in the House itself, including the Lady MacRobert Room. There are a further 15 in nearby cottages and apartments. We can accommodate up to 56 people, with 29 in their own rooms (i.e. not sharing).

Sorry - we do not allow dogs (except assistance dogs) in the main House; however, they are allowed in some apartments and cottages.

The make up of our rooms is as follows:

    • Douneside House: 14 en-suite bedrooms (2 king-size; 7 twin-bedded; 4 double; one single).
    • Gatehouse Cottage: One king-size en-suite and two twin en-suite bedrooms, a sitting room and kitchen.
    • Alpha Cottage: One king-size en-suite and two twin en-suite bedrooms, a sitting room and small kitchen.
    • Pine Cottage: Two twin en-suite bedrooms, a sitting room and kitchen.
    • Morven Cottage: One double bedroom, one single bedroom, a bathroom, sitting room and kitchenette.
    • Casa Memoria Cottage: Four self-contained apartments - three have twin bedroom, sitting room and bathroom; the fourth has two twin bedrooms, two sitting rooms and one bathroom.
