Quickest route: A90 via Dundee, B974 Fettercairn, Cairn O'Mount, B976 Aboyne, B9094 Tarland, B9119 > turn left to Douneside - approximately 2 hours 10 minutes non-stop from north side of Forth Road Bridge (+10 minutes from Glasgow M73/A80 junction).
Smoothest route: A90 via Dundee, at Stonehaven left onto A957, Crathes left onto A93, Banchory A93, Aboyne turn right onto B9094 Tarland, B9119 > turn left to Douneside - approximately 2½ hours non-stop from north side of Forth Road Bridge (+10 minutes from Glasgow M73/A80 junction).
Scenic route: From Perth take A93, Blairgowrie, Glen Shee, Braemar, Ballater, left onto B9119 to Tarland > turn left to Douneside - approximately 2½ hours non-stop from north side of Forth Road Bridge (+10 minutes from Glasgow M73/A80 junction)
